If you enjoy homemade cakes that are easy to prepare and made with simple ingredients, this recipe is definitely worth trying!
👩🍳 Method – Step by Step
1. Prepare the dry ingredients.
Place the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and ground ginger in a bowl. Mix well, then sift everything through a sieve.
2. Mix the wet ingredients.
In a separate bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, pumpkin purée, vegetable oil and natural yoghurt. Using an electric mixer on a low speed, mix until the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.
3. Combine the ingredients.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until you have a smooth, uniform batter. Avoid overmixing to help keep the cake light and fluffy.
4. Prepare the tin.
Grease a bundt tin thoroughly with butter or oil and dust it lightly with flour. Make sure all the grooves are covered to help the cake release easily after baking.
5. Bake the cake.
Pour the batter into the prepared tin and place it in a preheated oven at 180°C / 350°F (conventional setting, without the fan).
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Baking time may vary slightly depending on your oven and the size of the tin.
6. Cool and decorate.
After baking, leave the cake in the tin for about 10–15 minutes. Carefully turn it out onto a wire rack and allow it to cool completely.
Before serving, dust with icing sugar or drizzle with a simple icing glaze, if desired.
